RECENT NEWS:

Act 129 was enacted by the Pennsylvania General Assembly in November 2008 and requires Met-Ed and all of Pennsylvania’s major electric distribution companies to develop and implement energy and conservation plans to reduce electricity consumption and peak demand.

The legislation calls for electricity savings of at least 1% by May 2011, and at least 3% by May 2013.  It further calls for a reduction in peak demand of at least 4.5 % by May 2013.
